“Words mean more than what is set down on paper. It takes the human voice to infuse them with deeper meaning.”

About Me
Born and bred in Oxford, Mississippi, a town rich with a culture deeply rooted in classic literature and history, it is no surprise how I love any form of storytelling from books and magazines to theater and poetry. Growing up, I was an avid reader and would spend my days finding the quietest place to read from the old oak tree, to my mother’s closet, or the stoop on my back porch. Blessed to have parents who always instilled in me a love of learning, I was surrounded by the classics from Tom Sawyer to Jane Eyre. Later on as a young teen, I would create mini newspapers to share with my family along with a plethora of short stories, songs, and poems. This love for creating stories is the reason I am set to graduate in May with degrees in both journalism and English. Now looking at my old notebooks filled to the brim with past story ideas, observations, and interviews, I know I am ready to step into the the next chapter of my life and start looking for the next story that is just waiting to be told.
