Digitizing Public Media at the Center for Public Television & Radio at University of Alabama: An On-the-Ground Report from PBPF Fellow Hannah Hurdle
The collection focuses on pieces that bring to life inspiring stories and empowering characters who have helped form Alabama’s past and are working to shape its future. There are 46 programs in total covering Alabama’s history from 1982 until 2007.
This exhibition is drawn entirely from the Center’s Children and Tobacco Collection, which consists of candy cigarette, cigar, and chewing tobacco products sold in sweets shops the world over throughout the 20th century.
In the 21st century, football has surpassed baseball in popularity. But for the past 100 years, cigarettes and football have been as close as teammates in the huddle.
